BLACKSTONE

Blackstone Automotive in Dandenong South scans and tests engines when a warning light comes on or the car isn't running properly, and explains the fault before any repair.

Signs to get it checked

An engine warning light, rough idling, loss of power, hesitation, stalling, higher fuel use than usual, unusual smells or smoke.

What we do

We read stored fault codes, then test to confirm the cause. A fault code points to where a problem is detected, not always what's caused it, so we check before recommending parts.

What happens next

We explain the fault in plain language, the repair options and the cost, and nothing is done without your approval. If the warning light is flashing, or the car feels unsafe, stop driving and call us.

What affects the cost

How long it takes to confirm the cause, and the parts and labour for the repair you choose.

Questions about engine diagnostics and repairs

Can I keep driving with the engine light on?

If it's steady and the car drives normally, book a check soon. If it's flashing or the car is running badly, stop when it's safe: continuing can cause damage.

Doesn't the scan tool tell you exactly what's wrong?

It tells us where the car's computer has detected a problem. We then test to confirm the actual cause before recommending a repair.

Will you fix it straight away?

We explain what we found and the options first. Repairs go ahead only with your approval.
