Assessment first

Every repair starts with a careful look at the damage — including what may be hidden behind a bumper or panel. We photograph and document what we find, prepare a quote, and explain the repair plan before anything starts. If you're claiming on insurance, the quote goes to the insurer handling the claim.

What a collision repair can involve

  • Panel repair: straightening and reshaping damaged panels where they can be repaired, or replacing them where they can't.
  • Bumpers and trims: repairing or replacing plastic bumpers, clips, brackets and trims.
  • Refinishing: preparing, painting and blending repaired areas so the finish matches the surrounding panels.
  • Related mechanical work: collisions can damage cooling, suspension and steering parts too. Because we also do mechanical repairs, these can be handled in the same job.
  • Final checks: fit, finish and function are checked before the car is handed back.

Can I pay privately instead of claiming?

You can have accident damage repaired through an insurance claim or pay for it privately. For minor damage, some people prefer a private repair to avoid paying an excess or making a claim; that's your decision, and we'll give you a quote either way. Whether you can choose your repairer on an insurance claim depends on your policy, so check the wording or ask your insurer.

Your approval, in writing

Repairs only go ahead once you've approved them in writing. If hidden damage is found during the repair, we stop and explain it, and further work needs approval — from you, and from the insurer if it's paying.

How long will my repair take?

Most of the time goes on the steps around the repair: the insurer's decision, parts arriving, hidden damage found once panels come off, and paint curing. A light scuff with parts on hand may take a few days once approved; structural damage or back-ordered parts can take weeks. We'll give you an estimate once the car has been assessed and tell you if it changes.
