BLACKSTONE

Blackstone Auto Group in Dandenong South tests and replaces batteries and tracks down electrical faults, from slow starts to warning lights and accessories that stop working.

Signs of a battery or electrical problem

The engine cranks slowly or not at all, the battery light comes on, lights dim at idle, the battery keeps going flat overnight, or electrical items work only some of the time.

What we check

Battery health and state of charge, the charging system (alternator output and connections), the starter motor, and for intermittent faults, wiring, fuses and connectors. A flat battery isn't always a bad battery: something can be draining it while the car is parked, or it may not be charging properly while you drive.

What happens next

We explain what we found. If a part needs replacing, we tell you before doing it, and nothing extra is done without your approval.

What affects the cost

The battery type your vehicle needs (many newer cars with start-stop need a specific battery), how long it takes to trace an intermittent fault, and any parts required.

Questions about battery and electrical

My battery is new but keeps going flat. Why?

Something may be drawing power while the car is parked, or the charging system may not be topping the battery up. We test the battery, the alternator and the parasitic draw to find which.

Does my car need a special battery?

Many cars with stop-start or lots of electronics need a specific battery type. We check what your vehicle is designed for before replacing it.

Can you find an intermittent electrical fault?

We'll test and trace it, but intermittent faults can take time to reproduce. We'll explain what we've found and check with you before spending more time on it.
